Rodeo Recap: August 12 – 18

The Northwest Rings in the Last, Biggest Week of Rodeo’s Summer Run

Heading into the third week of August, it’s back-to-school for many families and the jam-packed summer run schedules of many rodeo contestants begins to lighten up. Professional Rodeo’s summer run had one more mighty week to offer both contestants and fans last week, especially for residents of the Pacific Northwest.

Three rodeos in Idaho paid out between $150,000 - $350,000 including Caldwell, Gooding and Cassia County. Piggy-backing on Idaho’s string of rodeos was the rest of the Northwest including Washington, Oregon and Montana.

As is typically seen in the summer run, the cowboys and cowgirls who hit as many rodeos as possible during the week are the names that consistently come out on top and last week, some contestants won not once, not twice, but three times.

As the summer run continues, we’ll bring you the highlights of the previous week’s events, keeping you updated on the shuffle in standings and who brings the heat to summer’s biggest rodeos.
