Tri-State Rodeo | Fort Madison, Iowa: Total Payout - $143,013

Bareback: Weston Timberman

Montana Bareback rider Weston Timberman is in his rookie season. So far this season, he’s both the reigning Montana Circuit Finals and Resistol Rookie Roundup Champion. The 20-year-old is ready for his first trip to the lights of Las Vegas and a win in Iowa nearly solidifies his qualification. Timberman covered The Cervi Brothers’, Ain’t No Angel for 87 points and $5,200 in winnings at the Tri-State Rodeo. Timberman is currently 9th in the 2024 PRCA Bareback World Standings!

Steer Wrestling: Tristan Martin

2x NFR qualifier and Louisiana cowboy, Tristan Martin is in one of the most stressful positions a Professional Rodeo competitor can find themselves in this time of year. He’s currently sitting just inside the bubble of the top-15, so every penny counts at this point. Martin tied for the win in the Steer Wrestling in Fort Madison, racing for a lighting-quick 3.8 second run and a much-needed $2,444 in winnings. Martin is currently 15th in the 2024 PRCA Steer Wrestling World Standings!

Saddle Bronc: Brody Cress

A win at this week’s Tri-State Rodeo in Fort Madison, Iowa sets up Brody Cress for his eighth-consecutive NFR qualification in the Saddle Bronc Riding. Cress was 86 on Cervi Championship Rodeo’s, Triple Threat, winning by one point for a check worth nearly $5,400. Cress is currently 7th in the 2024 PRCA Saddle Bronc World Standings!

Lewiston Roundup | Lewiston, Idaho: Total Payout - $168,115

Team Roping: Brenten Hall & Kaden Profili

3x NFR Team Roping Header Brenten Hall alongside Texas Heeler Kaden Profili won the Team Roping in North Idaho last week at the third of the ‘Big 4’ rodeos, the Lewiston Roundup. The team ran a speedy 3.7 seconds for nearly $4,300 in winnings. Hall has not qualified for an NFR since 2021 and should the standings hold steady, will be back inside the Thomas & Mack this year. Hall is currently 8th in the 2024 PRCA Team Roping Header World Standings, Profili is 7th in the Heeler World Standings!

Barrel Racing: Tiany Schuster

Of the top-15 WPRA Barrel Racers, Texas’s Tiany Schuster has entered the most rodeos of the 2023-24 season, unofficially a total of 82. Idaho’s Lewiston Roundup will increase that count further, but Schuster will now add the rodeo to her list of big wins this season. Schuster raced for a 17.06 second run winning just under $3,900. Schuster is unofficially 8th in the 2024 WPRA Barrel Racing World Standings!

Fun Fact

Texas barrel racer Tiany Schuster has competed in an astounding 82 rodeos so far this season, more than any other top-15 WPRA barrel racer!

Bull Riding: Hayes Weight

Bull rider Hayes Weight from Utah is definitely on his way to his second NFR. Weight was one of only three bull riders to make a qualified ride at the Lewiston Roundup. Weight’s winning 88.5 came aboard Silver Spurs Club’s, Kiss Me, earning himself a check for $5,500. The next closest ride was 81, followed by a 78. Weight is currently 4th in the 2024 PRCA Bull Riding World Standings!

Puyallup Rodeo – Cinch Playoffs | Puyallup, Washington: Total Payout - $652,620*
*Includes Breakaway

2023 was the inaugural year of the Cinch Playoff Series, a new playoff style rodeo series where contestants compete for their share of the $1.1 million purse at South Dakota’s Cinch Playoffs Governor’s Cup.

Now in its second year, most of the PRCA’s biggest rodeos are identified as Cinch Playoff Series qualifying rodeos where money earned at each moves contestants up or down in the Playoff’s own set of standings.

Last weekend was the Cinch Playoffs in Puyallup, Washington, boasting its own payout of nearly $650,000. The top four finishers from each event at the Playoffs in Puyallup alongside other members of the top eight in the Playoff Series’ standings advance to The Governor’s Cup in South Dakota.

The Playoff Series is critical to contestants as the payout from both Puyallup’s Playoffs and The Governor’s Cup are enough to make major shifts in the standing – right before the September NFR qualification deadline.
